A Port Orange Army veteran has received a life-changing gift thanks to Homes For Our Troops, a national nonprofit dedicated to building and donating specially adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.
The organization recently completed and donated a custom-built, mortgage-free home designed specifically to meet the veteran’s needs. The residence includes accessibility-focused features that promote independence, mobility, and long-term comfort—allowing the veteran and their family to live more safely and confidently.
Community members, local partners, and volunteers played a key role in making the project possible. From planning and construction to the final handover, the home represents months of collaboration and support, highlighting the impact of community-driven efforts to give back to those who have served.
For the veteran, the new home is more than a place to live—it’s a foundation for stability and a renewed sense of independence. For Homes For Our Troops, the project reflects its ongoing mission to honor service and sacrifice by providing practical, lasting solutions that improve quality of life for injured veterans nationwide.
